Description
Open in 1969, the building housing the headquarters and museum of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and its garden were awarded the status of National Monument in recognition of its extraordinary characteristics, in terms of architecture as well as landscape architecture. The main auditorium and several adjoining areas have been recently remodelled. Open in 1983, the multifunction Modern Art Centre (CAM) was designed as a cultural centre for more informal artistic intervention and fruition.
