Description

This urban area encompasses a set of apartment buildings whose design pioneered the introduction of the new urban planning principles laid-out in the 1933 Athens Charter. Adapting an ideal city model to the reality of Lisbon, the design combines modern architecture principles and Portuguese tradition, with detached, sun-facing buildings raised on pillars, perpendicular to the main roads.
