Description

Designed by Januário Godinho and João Andresen, the Civil Courts of Lisbon building broke with the architectural tradition of other “Palaces of Justice” by favouring a modernist language of marked originality. The way it integrates the surrounding urban grid, its volume, expression and functionality, as well as the innovative construction materials used, convey a distinct individual presence, although the building was designed as part of a larger complex that would house the Lisbon Justice Forum.
